Barton VIPS: Join Our Village! 🐾
We are so excited to announce the official re-launch of our VIPS program! Whether you have an hour a week or an hour a month, your time makes a world of difference for our students and teachers. From our brand-new Parent Lounge (Room 1109) to helping in the classroom, there is a place for everyone.
Getting started is as easy as 1-2-3! Please follow these three steps to join the team:
Step 1: Get Cleared by the District
Safety first! All volunteers must be cleared by the Long Beach Unified School District. If you haven't filled out your official background check for the 2025-2026 school year yet, please do so at the link below.
Step 2: Tell Us Your Interests
Once you've started your district application, fill out our Barton VIPS Interest Form! This helps us match your talents and schedule with the specific needs of our teachers—whether it’s reading with students, prep work in the lounge, or helping with special events.
Step 3: Wait for Your Welcome!
Once you’ve submitted your district application, please allow approximately 2 weeks for the LBUSD VIPS main office to process your background check and send your official approval notification. After you are cleared, our Barton VIPS Coordinator will reach out to you with onboarding instructions, a tour of the Parent Lounge (Room 1109), and your specific placement information!
